Angry Birds is the current #2 app seller in the iTunes app store. It’s been #1 for weeks, but apparently a little thing called the World Cup has sparked the fire on the FIFA World Cup iPhone app, knocking Angry Birds from it’s top reign.
As of May, Angry Birds has generated approximately 2.35 MILLION paid downloads -- since it’s launch in December. Not too shabby! Here’s the premise of the Angry Birds game.
Once upon a time, there were birds who were over the moon happy about laying eggs. Mean evil green pigs wanted these eggs so they stole them. The birds got angry (hence, the name Angry Birds).
The survival of the Angry Birds is at stake. Dish out revenge on the green pigs who stole the Birds eggs. Use the unique destructive powers of the Angry Birds to lay waste to the pigs fortified castles.
Angry Birds features hours of gameplay, challenging physics-based castle demolition, and lots of replay value. Each of the 63 levels requires logic, skill, and brute force to crush the enemy.
Angry Birds is ADDICTIVE. As stupid is it looks, is about how stupid you will feel after looking at the clock and realizing that 4 hours has past, you iPhone is about to die and yet you are STILL playing Angry Birds trying to kill the mean evil green pigs.
I downloaded this while on a road trip a few weeks ago. This is a total waste of time like with any game, but is totally fun. The strategy element has you playing over and over hoping to achieve the ability to retrieve the Angry Birds GOLDEN Eggs!
Good news for those non-iPhoners. Angry Birds is also available for Nokia 900 (N900). Attention
ROVIO -- Android would love Angry Birds as well (or at least my husband would -- there look you would sell 1, at least!).
